Milwaukee Double Cross Weekend

Saturday's Kletsch Park hosted by Team Polska proved to be a challenging race course with one of the hardest climbs in Wisconsin cross and plenty of corners to keep things exciting.  Sunday's race at Estabrook started with rain falling and making for a greasy course.  However, the rain didn't last long and by afternoon the sun was starting to peak out.

Stoughton Viking Cross to raise funds to send Wisconsin racers to Cyclocross Nationals

RACE FLYER.
Race Course Map

On Sunday, November 11 cyclocross racers in the region will have the opportunity to try out a new course at Mandt Park in Stoughton, Wisconsin.  The Stoughton Viking Cross race will offer racers a fast, flat course with fun twists and turns.  This race will serve as the Wisconsin Singlespeed Cyclocross Championship and will also serve as a fundraiser for sending top Wisconsin racers to Cyclocross Nationals in Kansas City.

With no races scheduled in the Wisconsin Cycling Association series as well as no race in the Chicago Cross Cup racers in the region were looking for an event to keep their motivation and fitness high heading into December.  Local race promoters Renee Callaway and John Ericsson saw an opportunity for both a new venue and a chance to help out some deserving racers.  “I saw this opening in the race calendar as a perfect opportunity to make a difference for the local cross community by offering a high quality event while also raising funds to help out some of our best female and male racers interested in attending Nationals,” says Renee Callaway of madcross.org.

Racing takes place at Mandt Park located southeast of Madison in Stoughton, Wisconsin.  This is the first time a cross race has been held in Stoughton but the community has been very gracious in allowing access to this great facility for a last minute event.
