$tart Money Offered, Applications BeingAccepted for the October 14th &15th, 2006, Cincinnati, Ohio Area Cyclocross Weekend.

Thanks to sponsors Java Johnny’s Midtowne Café and the Lionhearts select junior cyclocross team, a limited pool of start money is being offered to help induce top talent to compete in the Ohio Valley Cyclocross Championship races on October 14th and 15th.

The purpose of the start money is to hopefully induce top cyclocross racers in the elite men, elite women and juniors categories to make the trip and experience Midwest cyclocross at it’s best.  Both events take place in Butler County Ohio, just north of Cincinnati

Saturday’s event is the Java Johnny’s – Lionhearts cyclocross in Middletown.  This event takes place on a course designed to UCI requirements and the guaranteed purse is equivalent to UCI C2 up to 10 places for elite men and 6 places for elite women.

Sunday’s event is the Biowheels / United Dairy Farmers in Fairfield, Ohio and carries a UCI C2 designation.  This race is the longest running and biggest event in the Ohio Valley series.  The race has the facilities and financial resources and aspires to become a C1 event in the future.

The promoters welcome applications from dedicated ‘cross racers with resumes which will spice up our starting grids.  Especially desired are elite men, women and juniors with national championship podium finishes, strong UCI rankings from last season, and name recognition in the sport.

Applications can be made via the Ohio Valley Cyclocross site at www.ovcx.com.  More information is available from Doug Dobrozsi at (513)403-1951, ddobrozsi@cinci.rr.com
