The WCA Cyclocross Series started on a beautiful fall day with temps in the 70s. With such a great day 225 people rolled to the start line setting the tone for things to come for the season. The Capitol Velo Club and Schwinn's Homegrown Cycling would like to thank everyone who came out and raced. Photos: Prize List Announced Capitol Velo Club and Homegrown Cycling are proud to offer the largest cash prize list in the WCA Cyclocross Series. Thanks to the sponsorship of Schwinn the Category 1 & 2 Women and Men will be racing for $715 each. The 1st place racer will receive $200. Race winners in every category will receive a custom Badger Cross pint glass in addition to their cash or merchandise prize. In the Kid's Race all the kids will receive great cyclocross medals. Now if we can just get some podium boys and champagne . . . Cargo Coffee the official coffee of Badger Cross Cargo Coffee will be offering some great prizes at Badger Cross. They also will be providing a needed caffeine jolt for tired race volunteers. Cargo Coffee located on S Park St is a great neighborhood coffee shop and a convenient way to pick up a drink on your way out of town. Stop in today! A Stone's Throw, located at 1925 Monroe Street in Madison, returns as a sponsor of Badger Cross. This women's outdoor clothing boutique has been a sponsor of Capitol Velo Club since its opening. A Stone's Throw will be providing some great outdoor fashions that some lucky women will take home. Williamson Bicycle and Fitness will once again be providing great merchandise prizes for some lucky race winners. New Junior
race perks thanks to Becker Law Office, S.C.
The Capitol Velo Club and Schwinn's
Homegrown Cycling Team are pleased to announce that Becker Law Office,
S.C. will be sponsoring the Junior races at Badger Cross this Sunday,
October 1. Thanks to this generous sponsorship Juniors without annual
USA Cycling licenses will have the $10 fee waived for a daily license.
In addition, prizes will now go 5 deep for all the Junior races (Boys
and Girls 15-18 and 14 and Under). Get your racing license now We're only a couple of weeks away from the first race of the WCA CX season - Badger Cross! We'll be firing up the grills and once again providing racers with a free lunch. Boca Burgers will be the featured food item providing a healthy and tasty lunch. JT Whitneys Pub and Brewery will be helping ensure that no one goes thirsty. A keg of root beer will be tapped a little before noon. A keg of great tasting beer will be tapped just after 1pm for spectators who are out to cheer for our elite women and men. Twice as much root beer and beer will be available this year!
