Michigan UCI Races Kick Off Cyclocross Season Tailwind's 2005 Cyclo-Cross Race Series started off with a BANG at Waterford Hills Race Track. The UCI 'Cross Weekend sponsored by Kinetic Systems Bicycles drew racers from as far away as California to compete for the season's first UCI points. Jelly Belly Pro Racer Jeremy Powers came away with the tightly contested win in Men's Elite both Saturday and Sunday. Local Flying Rhino CC racer Ann Schwartz rode strong for convincing wins both Saturday and Sunday in Women's Elite. Wisconsin racers finished strong with Bjorn Selander (Alan Factory Team) winning the Junior race both days. Matt Kelly (Alan Factory Team), Tristan Schouten (Trek Midwest) and Jacob Stechman (Alan Factory Team) had strong races in the Elite Men's race. Renee Callaway (Alan Factory Team) survived the Elite Women's Race (read her report). Chris Setter (CZ Velo) took 2nd in the B race on Sunday and Dave Bell (Chainsmokers) also did well in the B race. Dria Setter Cz Velo) did her first cross race ever on Sunday.
