Mike Beatty (Chainsmokers) catches big air over the log section.

Frost on the trail greeted the C Racers but the sun came out and changed what was certain to be a frigid day into a perfect sunny day for racing.  The sun made the trails a little greasy but that just made the corners more interesting.  In the Men's C Race, it was a battle between Jerry Long and Andrew Angeli (UW-Madison).  However, Jerry attacked and attacked and then attacked once again.  In the end, his attacks paid off as he sprinted in just ahead of Andrew for the win.

In the Women's C Race, surprise newcomer, Tammy Meehan, took the decisive win.  That left Brittany Nigh (Team Pedal Moraine) and Renee Callaway (Mad FORCs) to fight it out for second and third.  This week Brittany took second place by a just over a bike length.  However, Renee rode a strong last lap to close down what had been at least a 20 second gap at one point to less than 10 feet.  In fourth was another newcomer to the series, Kari Myli, who was hot on the wheels of Brittany and Renee.

In the Men's B Race, Finn Ryan (Brazen Dropouts) was joined by teammate Mark Harms in a lead group of three.  Finn and Mark used their team strength to jump off the front with Finn once again taking the win and Mark just behind in second place.

In the 30+ Men's Race, the usual lead group of four developed early on which included Gene Tolli (CZ Velo) and Marty Netzel (Gear'n Up).  Coming into the last corner and finishing stretch, Gene made his move and took the early jump.  Unfortunately, he was only able to grab second in the sprint with first place going to Brian Conant (Northbranch) Sprinting out of a two-man group for fifth palce was Scott Topel (Brazen Dropouts).  Not far behind and moving up fast was John P Ericsson (Brazen Dropouts).

In the A/B Women's Race, Rebecca Much (XXX-Athletico) arrived on a new cross bike and rode it to her fist win of the season.  In second was a strong Faye Hartmann (Brazen Dropouts).  Not far behind in third place was Patti Kaufmann (Hampshire) and in fourth Julie Fiocca (Higher Gear).

Once again Earendel Fingerson put in a great race and had a two and a half minute margin by the end.  Win or lose, his stylish barrier hopping was a crowd pleaser for sure!

It's down to one race left in the series and the competition should be fast and furious next week at Angel Park Speedway in Sun Prairie.
